Erik Berge lives in a large detached house in Skedsmokorset. He controls all electronics in the house with the xComfort app on his iPad and iPhone.
“I have different scenario settings in the system. When I want a Cognac on a Friday evening, I press the Cognac setting, the light dims and it creates a pleasant atmosphere,” says Berge.
Berge readily admits that he is a big fan of gadgets and that he has been playing with the xComfort system a great deal.
“Once I was in New York and wanted to let a tradesman in. I opened the garage with my iPhone, turned on the light and let him in.”
Unique system
With the xComfort system from Eaton, the house of the future is available now. A mobile app makes it possible to control the entire house with an iPhone. From lights and heating to blinds and the coffee maker.
The system can be pre-programmed so that the coffee maker and cooker are switched off when you leave the house. And lights are turned on in the bedroom and all corridors when the smoke detector is triggered.
“xComfort is the future today. In an era when we focus on saving the environment and energy, this system is unique. And even better, you can save money by installing a system that provides luxury in everyday life,” says Øystein Kolberg, who is the Marketing Manager for Eaton Norway and the xComfort system.
Keep track of things
Berge chose xComfort because he wanted a holistic, power saving system that was easy to use.
“It is very nice to have a system that can turn off all lights in one go and ensure that the coffee maker is not on when I leave home. This is the house of the future, it becomes almost a little sci-fi,” says Berge, with a laugh.
